The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established provider of fire, security and locksmith services, supporting residential and commercial customers across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a technically strong Technical Support & Design Engineer with a fire and security engineering background to support field engineers, customers and internal teams.
The Role
This is a varied, office-based role with regular site visits and surveys. You will act as a key technical point of contact, resolving complex system queries and supporting the design, survey and estimation of fire and security systems.
- Provide technical support to engineers, service teams and customers
- Resolve complex queries across fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and related systems
- Carry out site surveys and assess customer requirements
- Produce system designs, drawings and specifications
- Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for installations, upgrades and remedial works
- Support the sales team with technical advice and solution design
- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and external stakeholders
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and health & safety requirements
Who We’re Looking For
You will be an experienced Fire & Security Engineer with strong technical knowledge and a practical understanding of system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- Background in fire and/or security systems
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and technical knowledge
- Experience with site surveys, estimates and quotations
- Ability to turn customer requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Experience with FIA, SSAIB, NSI, ECS or manufacturer-specific qualifications would be advantageous.
