About the Role

Are you an experienced Site Manager looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of high-voltage transmission and distribution infrastructure to hire a Site Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations on critical infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Management: Oversee all on-site activities, coordinating labour, plant, and materials to ensure works progress in line with the project programme.
  • Subcontractor Management: Direct and manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring adherence to method statements, risk assessments, and client requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact on site, maintaining strong working relationships with the client, project managers, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Technical Oversight & Reporting: Maintain accurate site records, produce daily and weekly progress reports, and support handover documentation and close-out packs.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with National Grid standards, CDM regulations, and relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Site Manager within the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience managing works within high-voltage transmission or distribution environments, with familiarity of National Grid processes and standards.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Demonstrated track record of managing complex, multi-discipline sites within live or safety-critical environments.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, clear communication, proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card preferred), First Aid at Work, and a relevant HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in engineering or construction.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience on National Grid transmission or substation projects, or comparable work with DNOs or other major utilities contractors.
