About the Role

Are you an experienced Security Systems Service Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of commercial security systems and integrated solutions to hire a Security Systems Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the reactive and planned preventative maintenance of security systems across a portfolio of commercial and industrial sites, ensuring maximum system uptime and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance visits across a range of security systems, including CCTV, intruder detection, and access control, in line with manufacturer and contractual requirements.
  • Reactive Fault-Finding & Repair: Respond to call-outs, diagnose faults efficiently, and restore systems to full working order with minimal disruption to the client.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Liaise professionally with end-user clients on site, providing clear updates on works carried out and managing expectations throughout each visit.
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and handover documentation in a timely manner using company systems.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards including BS EN 50131, BS 8243, and applicable health and safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Security Systems Service Engineer within the physical security industry.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with market-leading platforms such as Texecom, Honeywell, Gallagher, Paxton, Hikvision, or Axis across intruder alarm, access control, and CCTV systems.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of managing a varied service and maintenance workload across commercial, retail, or industrial environments.
  • Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, professional client-facing manner, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: NSI or SSAIB-recognised installer qualification; SIA licence; CSCS card.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience working within a systems integrator or specialist security contractor environment, particularly on multi-site maintenance contracts.
