Job Title: Security Systems Design Engineer
Location: Midlands
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Security Systems Design Engineer based in the Midlands looking for your next opportunity? As a Security Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical designs for a range of security systems, working across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites to deliver CCTV, access control, and intruder detection solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications for security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
* Carry out site surveys to gather information and assess requirements ahead of the design process.
* Prepare technical documentation including risk assessments, cable schedules, and equipment schedules in line with project requirements.
* Liaise with project managers, installers, and clients to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and delivered on time.
* Ensure all designs meet relevant British Standards, codes of practice, and client specifications.
* Support the estimating and tender process by providing accurate technical input and bill of materials.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in the design of electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection.
* Proven ability to produce CAD or Visio-based design drawings to a professional standard.
* Experience working with leading manufacturers such as Genetec, Gallagher, Honeywell, or Texecom.
* Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards including BS EN 50132, BS EN 60839, and PD 6662.
* Full UK driving licence.
* NSI or SSAIB accreditation awareness (desirable).
* FIA or BTEC qualification in Electronic Security Systems (desirable).
