Job Title: Security Systems Design Engineer
Location: Midlands
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Security Systems Design Engineer based in the Midlands looking for your next opportunity? As a Security Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical designs for a range of security systems, working across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites to deliver CCTV, access control, and intruder detection solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed design drawings, schematics, and specifications for security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
* Carry out site surveys to gather information and assess requirements ahead of the design process.
* Prepare technical documentation including risk assessments, cable schedules, and equipment schedules in line with project requirements.
* Liaise with project managers, installers, and clients to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and delivered on time.
* Ensure all designs meet relevant British Standards, codes of practice, and client specifications.
* Support the estimating and tender process by providing accurate technical input and bill of materials.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in the design of electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection.
* Proven ability to produce CAD or Visio-based design drawings to a professional standard.
* Experience working with leading manufacturers such as Genetec, Gallagher, Honeywell, or Texecom.
* Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards including BS EN 50132, BS EN 60839, and PD 6662.
* Full UK driving licence.
* NSI or SSAIB accreditation awareness (desirable).
* FIA or BTEC qualification in Electronic Security Systems (desirable).
