Job Title: Security Systems Design Engineer
Location: North-East
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Security Systems Design Engineer based in the North-East looking for your next opportunity? As a Security Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing technical designs and documentation for a range of security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder detection, and integrated security solutions, across commercial, industrial, and public sector sites. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed security system designs, including schematic drawings, cable schedules, and equipment specifications, in line with client requirements and industry standards.
* Carry out site surveys to gather information required for accurate system design and specification.
* Prepare tender documentation, bills of materials, and technical proposals to support the sales and estimating process.
* Liaise with project managers, installation engineers, and clients to ensure designs are delivered on time and to specification.
* Review and update existing designs in response to client feedback, site variations, or value engineering requirements.
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant British Standards, codes of practice, and health and safety regulations.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in the design of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
* Proficiency in CAD or similar design software for the production of technical drawings and schematics.
* Working knowledge of relevant standards, including BS EN 50132, BS EN 50131, and BS 7799.
* Strong understanding of IP networking principles as they apply to security system design.
* Full UK driving licence.
* FIA Level 3 or equivalent security systems qualification (desirable).
* SSSTS or SMSTS health and safety certification (desirable).
