About the Role

Are you an experienced Security Project Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of commercial security systems to hire a Security Project Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of security installations from initial planning through to commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, to specification, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking to step off the tools and move into a project-focused role, with a clear pathway towards full Project Management. You will join an established organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality physical security solutions across UK projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Managing the end-to-end delivery of small to medium-scale security projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and liaising with subcontractors and site teams.
  • Commissioning: Carrying out and overseeing the commissioning of security systems including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection, ensuring systems are fully tested and handed over to client satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder & Team Management: Acting as the key point of contact for clients and engineers on site, managing day-to-day project communications and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Technical Oversight & Reporting: Producing and maintaining project documentation including commissioning records, O&M manuals, snagging logs, and handover packs.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensuring all works are carried out in line with relevant industry standards including BS EN 50132, BS EN 50131, and applicable Health & Safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Security Engineer or Systems Installer within the physical security industry, with some exposure to project or site lead responsibilities.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with mainstream security platforms such as Genetec, Lenel, CCure, Gallagher, or Texecom, across CCTV, access control, and/or intruder alarm systems.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Proven ability to manage small projects or take a lead commissioning role on larger schemes, with an understanding of programme management and client handover processes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, client-facing confidence, and the ability to coordinate trades and subcontractors effectively.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application, with flexibility to travel across Yorkshire and surrounding regions as required.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: CSCS/ECS card; NSI or SSAIB-recognised installer qualifications; SIA licence (where applicable); IPAF/PASMA.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience working on commercial or corporate security projects for an NSI Gold or SSAIB-accredited installer.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Base Salary: £45,000 + Overtime
  • Benefits Package: Company pension scheme, company vehicle or travel allowance, and ongoing professional development support as you progress towards a Project Manager role.
  • Clear career progression within a growing global sector.
