Projects Director – Active Fire
Location: West Midlands
Salary / Package: £120,000 basic + car / car allowance + bonus
Technical Resources have partnered with an established fire protection specialist to recruit a Project Director to lead its Active Fire Protection delivery operation from its West Midlands office.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for the regional project portfolio, covering operational delivery, commercial performance, client relationships, and team development across fire detection and alarm, suppression, sprinkler, and other active fire protection systems.

This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for the regional project portfolio, covering operational delivery, commercial performance, client relationships, and team development across fire detection and alarm, suppression, sprinkler, and other active fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the P&L, programme delivery, quality, and commercial performance of a multi-project active fire portfolio.
- Lead and develop Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and support staff, building a high-performing delivery culture.
- Ensure contracts are delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality and compliance standards.
- Manage senior client relationships and act as the primary escalation point.
- Work with pre-construction and commercial teams to ensure a smooth handover from bid to delivery.
- Control project financials, including costs, variations, margin, and commercial risk.
- Drive continuous improvement across delivery operations and report performance to senior leadership.
Experience
- Proven Director or senior manager experience delivering active fire protection, fire detection and alarm, suppression, sprinkler, or closely related systems at scale.
- Strong P&L and commercial management experience across a multi-project portfolio.
- Track record leading large, multi-disciplinary delivery teams.
- Excellent client management and escalation-handling skills.
- Strong knowledge of active fire systems, compliance standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Commercially and analytically capable, with strong programme and financial reporting skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
