Project Manager – Fire Alarms
Location: London / Farringdon (Hybrid – home and site-based flexibility)
Contract Length: 6 months with possible extension
Day Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead fire alarm projects based from London / Farringdon. This role will initially focus on a single project, with the opportunity to expand into multiple concurrent projects as the contract progresses. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial capability, NEC4 contract experience, and a delivery-focused approach.
Candidates with a strong commercial background from HVAC or Electrical projects will also be considered, provided they have the right contract management experience and can adapt to fire alarm delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of fire alarm projects from initiation through to completion.
- Oversee project planning, progress tracking, risk management, and reporting.
- Manage commercial aspects of the project, including forecasting, variations, and cost control.
- Work within NEC4 contract frameworks and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maintain effective delivery.
- Support expansion from a single project into multiple live projects as required.
- Ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
- Provide regular updates on programme, budget, and commercial performance.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within fire alarms, electrical, HVAC, or a related building services environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and demonstrable NEC4 contract experience.
- Ability to manage project finances, variations, and stakeholder expectations.
- Good understanding of fire alarm systems and associated project delivery.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working flexibly between home and site.
Desirable
- Experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
- Background in electrical or HVAC project management with strong commercial exposure.
- Knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and site processes.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working from home and site, with a base in Farringdon, London.
- Initial focus on one project with scope to take on more.
