Project Engineer / Supervisor – Fire Alarms
Location: Exeter (On-Site)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Day Rate: £300–£325 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: September / October 2026
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Engineer / Supervisor to support delivery on a live site in Exeter. This role will focus on overseeing installation works, ensuring quality and compliance, and coordinating on-site activity within a structured construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the installation of fire alarm systems on-site.
- Coordinate engineers and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and on schedule.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety standards and regulations.
- Liaise with site management, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain smooth project delivery.
- Carry out quality checks, commissioning support, and documentation where required.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety procedures across all activities.
- Provide progress updates and reporting to the wider project team.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in fire alarm systems installation and supervision.
- FIA training/certification is essential.
- Proven experience working on active construction/building sites.
- Ability to manage site-based activity and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding of fire alarm standards (e.g. BS5839).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in commissioning or fault-finding fire alarm systems.
- Previous experience in a Project Engineer or Supervisory capacity.
- ECS/CSCS card or relevant site certifications.
Working Arrangements
- Fully site-based role in Exeter.
- Start date aligned to project mobilisation in September/October.
