Job Title: Operations Director
Location: Midlands / North West – Hybrid
Salary: From £110,000 to £115,000 per annum + Car Allowance + Annual Bonus

Are you an experienced Operations Director based in the Midlands or North West looking to lead a high-performing technical services operation? Technical Resources is recruiting for an Operations Director to oversee and optimise operational performance across multiple UK businesses within a rapidly scaling technology and security group. This is a senior leadership opportunity where you will drive operational excellence, improve service delivery, and support the continued growth of a £20m P&L business.

Responsibilities:

● Provide leadership across installations, service, maintenance, monitoring, and temporary security operations
● Lead and develop senior operational teams, driving accountability and continuous improvement
● Monitor KPIs including engineering productivity, response times, customer satisfaction, and system uptime
● Analyse operational performance data and report directly to the Managing Director
● Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, NSI standards, and industry accreditations
● Maintain ARC reliability, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes
● Improve operational workflows, systems, and resource planning across all departments
● Manage operational budgets, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
● Support recruitment, engineering coverage planning, and team development
● Work closely with commercial teams to ensure operational readiness for new projects and contracts
● Sit on the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the overall business strategy

Experience and Certifications required:

● Proven Director-level operational leadership experience
● Background in fire & security, monitoring centres, or technical services environments
● Strong understanding of engineering, service, maintenance, and monitoring operations
● Experience managing monitoring centres, control rooms, or critical infrastructure
● Experience with asset rental or equipment deployment operations
● Strong understanding of NSI accreditations and fire & security industry regulations
● Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational profitability
● Data-driven mindset with experience analysing KPIs, stats, and operational performance metrics
● Experience implementing process improvements, systems, and operational technologies
