About the Role
Are you an experienced Intruder Alarm Installer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of commercial security systems to hire an Intruder Alarm Installer. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of intruder alarm systems across commercial and residential sites, ensuring all work is completed to the highest technical and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Install intruder alarm systems including control panels, detectors, keypads, and peripherals to manufacturer and industry specifications.
- Commissioning & Testing: Commission and test installed systems to confirm full functionality and compliance prior to handover.
- Client & Site Liaison: Liaise with site managers, end users, and subcontractors to coordinate access, manage site activity, and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate installation records, commissioning sheets, and handover documentation in line with company procedures.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to PD 6662, BS 8243, and BS EN 50131 standards, as well as relevant Health & Safety regulations.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as an Intruder Alarm Installer within the physical security industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience installing and commissioning systems from manufacturers such as Texecom, Honeywell, Pyronix, Risco, or Galaxy.
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering installations across commercial and/or residential sites to agreed timescales and standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, clear communication with clients and site teams, and a methodical approach to work.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK and ability to travel to sites across the Birmingham region.
Desirable:
- Certifications: NSI or SSAIB-recognised installer credentials; CSCS card; first fix/second fix experience on large commercial projects.
- Sector Background: Prior experience working on retail, commercial office, or critical infrastructure contracts.
