Job Title: Gates & Barriers Engineer

Rate: £220 per day + package
Are you a Gates & Barriers Engineer based in London looking for a contract opportunity? As a Gates & Barriers Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of automated gates, barriers, and access control systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential sites throughout London. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security and access solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on automated gates, barriers, and associated access control equipment to manufacturer and contractual standards.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on a range of gate and barrier systems in a timely manner.
* Respond to reactive callouts, attending site to assess and repair failures with minimal disruption to the client.
* Complete accurate service records and job reports using company systems, ensuring all works are documented correctly.
* Liaise with site contacts and clients professionally, providing updates on works carried out and any remedial recommendations.
* Ensure all works are completed in line with current health and safety legislation and company procedures.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Proven experience servicing and maintaining automated gates, barriers, and access control systems in a field-based role.
* Familiarity with a range of manufacturers and systems such as BFT, FAAC, Came, Magnetic Autocontrol, or similar.
* Sound knowledge of electrical wiring, control panels, and loop detectors associated with gate and barrier installations.
* Ability to work independently, managing a London-based field service workload effectively.
* Full UK driving licence.
* CSCS Card (desirable).
* EAL or equivalent gates and barriers qualification (desirable).
