About the Role

Are you an experienced Gallagher Commissioning Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a specialist security contractor to hire a Gallagher Commissioning Engineer for a project commissioning Gallagher access control and PIDS (Perimeter Intrusion Detection System) equipment across Gas sites in the South West. In this role, you will take full ownership of commissioning, testing, and handover on live critical infrastructure sites, and will need to hit the ground running from day one.

This is an ideal opportunity for a certified Gallagher engineer to join a high-profile critical infrastructure project with a confirmed start date of 4th January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning: Commission Gallagher access control and PIDS equipment across Gas sites throughout the South West and South Wales.
• Remote Programming: Carry out remote programming and configuration of Gallagher systems as required by the project.
• Testing & Witness Testing: Test systems to verify correct operation and carry out formal witness testing with the client on site.
• Handover: Complete structured handover of commissioned systems, ensuring all requirements are met prior to sign-off.
• Fault Finding: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning and configuration issues confidently and efficiently on live sites.
• Paperwork & Reporting: Accurately complete all commissioning documentation and report any outstanding issues to the project team.
• Site Compliance: Work at all times in accordance with site rules, procedures, and safety requirements applicable to Gas sites.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

• Experience: Proven hands-on experience commissioning Gallagher access control systems in a live project environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Gallagher Command Centre and E-PIDS.
• Project Scope: Demonstrable experience of testing, witness testing, and handing over systems to client on live projects.
• Working Style: Able to work independently and troubleshoot configuration and commissioning issues with confidence.
• Certifications: Gallagher Access Technician / Fence Installer certification; Gallagher certification in Command Centre and E-PIDS; SHEA Gas; valid ECS card.
• Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application; able to travel to sites across the South West and South Wales.

Desirable:

• Sector Background: Prior experience working on critical infrastructure or utilities projects, particularly within the gas or energy sector.
