Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Rate: €40–€45 per hour
Working Pattern: 45–50 hours per week, 10/4 rotation

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Project Engineer/Supervisor to support a long-term fire alarm installation project within a Google Data Centre in Austria. The role will involve working closely with the Company’s Project Manager to ensure smooth delivery across allocated projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, progress, and compliance.
You will be responsible for supporting the planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of fire alarm systems, including Siemens Cerberus PRO, within a highly controlled and technically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out site surveys and prepare supporting documentation, considering all relevant security and fire risk factors.
  • Support the planning of fire detection, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems where required.
  • Ensure all design and installation activity complies with applicable technical and regulatory standards, including EN, BS, HTM, and BAFE/NSI Codes of Practice.
  • Coordinate installation activities to ensure works are completed in a controlled manner and in line with company procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage project progress, reporting delays, risks, and required actions to the Project Manager.
  • Support health and safety management, installation progress, quality control, material management, and test and commissioning.
  • Produce accurate reports for the Project Manager and other company officers as required.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with stakeholders to ensure labour resources are available to meet project requirements.
  • Accept installations from installers in preparation for commissioning.
  • Commission and test systems, complete commissioning documentation, and demonstrate system operation to the client or client representative.
  • Maintain accurate mark-ups of drawings, schedules, snagging lists, and progress records.
  • Carry out any other job-specific duties reasonably required by the directors.
  • Keep up to date with relevant technologies and regulatory standards affecting the design and delivery process.

Health and Safety Duties
  • Complete Safe Starts and Toolbox Talks.
  • Carry out site inspections and report findings.
  • Record plant and MEWP inspections where applicable.
  • Support compliance with company H&S policies and site procedures.
  • Promote safe working practices at all times across the project.
Quality and Compliance
  • Monitor installation quality and report non-conformances or snags.
  • Ensure snags are documented, tracked, and cleared promptly.
  • Support the management of false alarms and adherence to company quality procedures.
  • Ensure commissioning and handover records are complete and accurate.
  • Work in line with BAFE SP203-1 principles for fire detection and alarm systems.
Requirements
  • EU passport holder.
  • Electrical qualification.
  • Experience in fire alarm installation, supervision, or project delivery.
  • Experience working in data centre or critical environment projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of relevant fire and electrical standards.
  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work a 10/4 rotation and travel for the assignment.

Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of Siemens Cerberus PRO systems preferred.
  • Fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, or data centre environments.
  • Commissioning, testing, and handover of life safety systems.
  • Supervising installers, subcontractors, and site activities.
  • Working to strict quality, safety, and compliance standards in live environments.
