Job Title: Fire Detection Design Engineer
Location: Sunderland
Rate: £400 per day
Hours: 50 hours per week

Are you an experienced Fire Detection Design Engineer looking for your next contract in Sunderland? As a Fire Detection Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fire alarm and detection system designs on a major utilities project at the Sunderland Gigafactory. You will be working for a specialist contractor delivering a long-term infrastructure project with an established design team.

Description of contract/programme of works:

  • Design fire alarm and detection systems in line with project requirements.
  • Produce detailed design drawings, layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
  • Work independently and alongside the wider design team to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant standards and project specifications.
  • Support a major utilities project with a long-term pipeline of work.

Experience required:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Fire Detection Design Engineer role.
  • Proven experience designing fire alarm and detection systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of British Standards, including BS 5839, is desirable.
  • Experience working on utilities or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.

Required documentation/certifications/tooling:

  • CSCS Card (preferred but not essential).
