Job Title: Fire Design Engineer (Part-Time)

Rate: £360–£370 per day
Duration: 6-month contract
Are you an experienced Fire Design Engineer looking for a flexible remote contract? Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire Design Engineer to provide design support for fire alarm system projects on a part-time basis, averaging three days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contractor looking for flexible, project-based work focused on bids, pricing and technical design support for a specialist fire safety business.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Design fire alarm systems in accordance with project requirements and relevant UK standards.
- Support bids, pricing and technical submissions with accurate design input.
- Produce clear design documentation and system layouts for internal project teams.
- Liaise with bids, commercial and project teams to develop practical fire alarm solutions.
- Review client requirements and translate them into compliant fire alarm designs.
- Provide ad-hoc technical design support across a 6-month contract, with workload varying depending on project requirements.
Experience required:
- Proven experience designing fire alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm design principles and relevant UK standards.
- Experience supporting bids, pricing or pre-construction design work.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Comfortable working on a flexible, part-time contract basis.
- Suitable home working setup.
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- Experience using Visio (highly desirable).
