About the Role
Are you an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading NSI Gold accredited provider of fire and security solutions to place a Fire & Security Service Engineer on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out service and maintenance across a range of commercial sites throughout South Wales, ensuring systems remain fully operational and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
- Service & Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm and security systems across commercial environments in the South Wales region.
- Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Identify, diagnose and rectify faults on a variety of fire and security systems to minimise downtime and ensure system integrity.
- Client Liaison: Represent the business professionally on-site, managing relationships with facility managers, building owners and end users throughout the service visit.
- Technical Reporting: Complete accurate service reports, defect notices and handover documentation following each site visit in line with company procedures.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards including BS 5839, BS EN 50131 and applicable health and safety regulations.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Security Service Engineer within the fire and security industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems (e.g. Advanced, Gent, Hochiki, Notifier, Honeywell) and/or security systems (e.g. Texecom, Galaxy, Paxton, Hikvision, Axis).
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering PPM and reactive maintenance across commercial sites independently and to schedule.
- Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, professional client-facing manner and clear written and verbal communication.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Certifications: FIA-accredited training, ECS/CSCS card, or manufacturer-specific system certifications relevant to fire or intruder/access control platforms.
- Sector Background: Prior experience working within NSI or SSAIB accredited companies on commercial or public sector contracts.
