About the Role
Are you an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with an NSI Gold accredited provider of commercial fire and security solutions to hire a Fire & Security Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems across a range of commercial sites throughout the Central Belt, ensuring systems remain fully operational and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
- System Servicing & Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm, CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems across commercial sites.
- Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently, minimising system downtime and ensuring client sites remain protected.
- Client Site Management: Work independently on client premises, maintaining a professional approach and keeping site contacts informed throughout visits.
- Technical Reporting: Complete accurate service records, fault logs, and compliance documentation in line with company and site requirements.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards, including BS 5839, BS EN 50131, and applicable health and safety regulations.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Security Service Engineer within the fire and security industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience servicing fire alarm systems, CCTV, intruder alarms, and/or access control systems across commercial environments.
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of carrying out PPM and reactive service works independently on commercial client sites.
- Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability, clear client communication, and the confidence to work autonomously.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Certifications: FIA-accredited training, CSCS/ECS card, or manufacturer-specific system certifications (e.g. Advanced, Gent, Honeywell, Texecom).
- Sector Background: Prior experience working within NSI or SSAIB accredited organisations on commercial or multi-site contracts.
