About the Role

Are you an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of integrated fire and security systems to hire a Fire & Security Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and fault rectification of fire detection and security systems, ensuring all installations remain compliant and fully operational across a varied commercial client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled servicing of fire alarm, intruder detection, CCTV, and access control systems to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Reactive Fault-Finding & Repair: Diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring client sites remain protected at all times.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate clearly with site contacts and end users, providing technical guidance and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Technical Reporting & Documentation: Complete accurate service reports, site logs, and handover documentation in line with company and contractual requirements.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with BS 5839, BS EN 50131, and relevant Health & Safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Security Service Engineer within the fire and security industry.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with fire alarm panels and intruder/access control systems from manufacturers such as Advanced, Gent, Honeywell, Galaxy, or equivalent; familiarity with CCTV platforms such as Hikvision, Dahua, or Axis is advantageous.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of managing a busy reactive and PPM workload across multiple commercial sites.
  • Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, clear written and verbal communication, and a professional approach to client-facing work.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: FIA-accredited training, CSCS card, or ECS card; NSI/SSAIB scheme awareness; first aid certification.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience servicing systems within commercial, retail, or public sector environments.
