About the Role

Are you an experienced Fire & Security Remedial Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of fire and security systems to hire a Fire & Security Remedial Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out remedial works across a range of fire and security systems, ensuring faults are diagnosed and resolved efficiently to maintain the safety and compliance of client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remedial Works: Carry out fault diagnosis and remedial repairs on fire alarm, intruder detection, access control, and CCTV systems across a varied portfolio of client sites.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond to call-outs and service requests promptly, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate professionally with site contacts and end users, providing clear updates on works carried out and any further recommendations.
  • Technical Reporting: Complete job sheets, site reports, and remedial quotations accurately, ensuring all documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with BS 5839, BS EN 50131, and relevant health and safety regulations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Security Engineer within the fire and security industry, with a focus on remedial or reactive works.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with a range of fire alarm panels and security systems, including intruder detection, access control, and CCTV — experience with manufacturers such as Advanced, Gent, Honeywell, or Texecom advantageous.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of working independently across multiple sites, managing reactive works through to completion.
  • Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, excellent communication skills, and a professional approach to client engagement.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: FIA-accredited training, CSCS/ECS card, or manufacturer-specific panel certifications.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience working on commercial, industrial, or public sector contracts within a maintenance or remedial capacity.
