Fire & Security Project Manager Location: London & Home Counties Salary: £50,000 + Car
Technical Resources have partnered with a leading UK fire and security compliance specialist to recruit for an experienced Fire & Security Project Manager to take ownership of multiple live projects across London and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on, commercially focused position where you will drive programme management, financial control, client communication, and technical assurance from handover through to final completion.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery: Manage the full lifecycle of fire and security projects (ideally £50k+ in value), ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery to technical and compliance standards.
Multi-Project Management: Run multiple projects concurrently, coordinating engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee and manage subcontractors, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to specification.
P&L Responsibility: Take ownership of project financials, including budget control, cost monitoring, margin protection, and variation management.
Procurement: Order parts and materials in advance to keep projects on schedule and avoid delays.
Client Liaison: Carry out client meetings, chair kick-off and progress meetings, and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project.
Site Visits & Technical Support: Conduct regular site visits, provide technical guidance to engineers, and ensure systems are installed and tested to British Standards and manufacturer requirements.
Documentation & Handover: Ensure all project paperwork is accurate, including method statements, risk assessments, commissioning records, and O&M manuals. Finalise project packs and documents at completion.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site works comply with CDM, RAMS, and relevant H&S legislation.
Experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the UK fire and security industry, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects from start to finish.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, disabled refuge, PAVA, and network infrastructure. Pure fire experience will be considered.
Commercial Acumen: Experience managing P&L, project budgets, and subcontractors.
Communication: Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to build strong relationships and manage expectations.
Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively across multiple live projects.
Qualifications: SMSTS or equivalent health and safety qualification is advantageous.
