About the Role
Are you an experienced Fire & Security Installation Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of fire and security systems to hire a Fire & Security Installation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of fire detection and security systems across commercial and residential sites, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard and in line with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Install fire alarm, intruder detection, access control, and CCTV systems across a range of commercial and residential sites throughout the Manchester area and surrounding regions.
- Cable Management & Containment: Run and terminate cables neatly and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant British Standards.
- Stakeholder & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, main contractors, and clients to ensure installations are completed on schedule and with minimal disruption.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting: Complete accurate site records, installation documentation, and handover packs in a timely manner.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works adhere to BS 5839, BS EN 50131, and applicable health and safety regulations throughout every stage of installation.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Security Installation Engineer within the fire and security industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience installing and commissioning fire alarm panels, intruder alarm systems, access control, and CCTV — familiarity with leading manufacturers such as Advanced, Gent, Texecom, Paxton, or equivalent.
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record delivering installations across commercial, industrial, or mixed-use sites to completion and handover.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage time effectively on site, and professional communication with clients and main contractors.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Certifications: FIA-accredited training, ECS/CSCS card, or NSI/SSAIB-recognised qualifications; First Fix/Second Fix certifications.
- Sector Background: Prior experience working on new-build commercial developments, retail fit-outs, or critical infrastructure projects.
