Are you an experienced Fire & Life Safety Service & Maintenance Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of fire and life safety systems to hire a Fire & Life Safety Service & Maintenance Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance and reactive servicing of fire detection and life safety systems, ensuring all installations remain fully operational and compliant with current industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Planned Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled servicing of fire alarm, emergency lighting, and life safety systems in line with manufacturer and contractual requirements.
- Reactive Fault Attendance: Diagnose and resolve system faults efficiently, minimising downtime and ensuring client sites remain protected at all times.
- Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate clearly with site contacts and building managers, providing updates on works completed and any outstanding remedial actions.
- Technical Reporting & Documentation: Complete accurate service reports, defect logs, and handover documentation following each site visit.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with BS 5839, BS 5266, and relevant health and safety legislation.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Fire & Life Safety Service & Maintenance Engineer within the fire and life safety industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience servicing and fault-finding on fire detection systems from manufacturers such as Advanced, Hochiki, Notifier, Gent, or Morley.
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of managing a varied service caseload across commercial, residential, and public sector sites.
- Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, confident client communication, and a self-motivated approach to lone working.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Full UK driving licence and Right to Work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Certifications: FIA qualification, BAFE accreditation, or equivalent fire industry certification; CSCS card beneficial.
- Sector Background: Prior experience working on critical environments such as healthcare, education, or local authority estates.
