Job Title: Fire Alarm Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000 + Package
Are you a Fire Alarm Design Engineer based in the Midlands looking for your next opportunity? As a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed fire alarm system designs for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with relevant British Standards and client specifications. Responsibilities:
* Produce detailed fire alarm system designs, including cause and effect matrices, schematics, and cable schedules in line with BS 5839.
* Carry out site surveys to gather information required for design purposes and identify any potential installation challenges.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
* Prepare and submit design documentation for client and authority approval, incorporating feedback and revisions as required.
* Provide technical support to installation and commissioning teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure all designs comply with current regulations, standards, and company quality procedures.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in fire alarm design, with a strong working knowledge of BS 5839 Part 1.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software for the production of fire alarm drawings.
* Experience designing systems using major fire alarm manufacturers such as Advanced, Kentec, Hochiki, or Gent.
* Strong understanding of cause and effect programming, system zoning, and detection strategies.
* Full UK driving licence.
* FIA Design Certificate or equivalent industry qualification (desirable).
