About the Role

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading mechanical and electrical contracting business to hire two Estimators. In this role, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive cost estimates across a range of projects, playing a central part in securing new contracts and supporting the business's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Tendering: Prepare detailed, accurate estimates and tender submissions for M&E projects from enquiry through to submission, ensuring competitiveness and commercial viability.
- Tender Analysis & Negotiation: Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities, engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best-value pricing.
- Stakeholder & Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to gather relevant information and align on project requirements.
- Technical Oversight & Reporting: Maintain clear records of all estimates, produce cost reports, and contribute to post-tender reviews and handover documentation.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all estimates adhere to relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and internal commercial governance processes.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as an Estimator within the M&E or building services industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Conquest, Causeway, or similar), with strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Project/Operational Scope: Demonstrable track record of pricing M&E projects ranging from small works through to larger, multi-trade contracts.
- Soft Skills: Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tender deadlines simultaneously.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK and willingness to work from one of the specified office locations (Stourbridge, Bury, or London).
Desirable:
- Certifications: HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline; CSCS or ECS card.
- Sector Background: Prior estimating experience across commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects, with exposure to both design-and-build and traditional procurement routes.
