About the Role
Are you an experienced EST Edwards Commissioning Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of fire detection and life safety systems to hire an EST Edwards Commissioning Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning and handover of EST Edwards fire alarm systems, ensuring all installations meet the required safety standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- System Commissioning: Commission EST Edwards fire detection and alarm systems on-site, ensuring full functionality in line with design specifications.
- Testing & Fault Diagnosis: Carry out systematic testing, identify faults, and resolve technical issues to achieve successful system sign-off.
- Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Work closely with site managers, M&E contractors, and end clients to coordinate commissioning activities and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Documentation: Produce accurate commissioning records, cause-and-effect schedules, handover packs, and as-fitted documentation.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with BS 5839, EN 54, and relevant fire safety regulations, maintaining full site safety standards throughout.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Commissioning Engineer within the fire detection industry, with demonstrable hands-on experience on EST Edwards systems.
- Technical Skills: Proven expertise commissioning EST Edwards panels and devices, including EST3, EST4, and associated intelligent detection equipment.
- Project/Operational Scope: Track record of commissioning fire systems on commercial, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects from installation through to client handover.
- Soft Skills: Strong fault-finding ability, clear written and verbal communication, and a professional approach to client-facing site work.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application; ability to work across East London sites as required.
Desirable:
- Certifications: FIA-accredited qualifications, CSCS/ECS card, and awareness of Notifier, Advanced, or other Honeywell/UTC-family panel systems.
- Sector Background: Prior experience on large-scale commercial developments, healthcare, or data centre fire safety projects is advantageous.
