About the Role
Are you an experienced Data Cabling Engineer looking for your next opportunity?
Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of structured cabling and network infrastructure solutions to hire a Data Cabling Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of data cabling systems across commercial and enterprise environments, ensuring all works are completed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Cable Installation: Install, route, and dress Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Termination & Testing: Terminate cables to patch panels and outlets, and carry out full testing and certification using Fluke or equivalent test equipment.
- Client & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, clients, and other trades to ensure works are delivered on time and with minimal disruption.
- Technical Documentation: Complete accurate test records, as-built drawings, and handover documentation upon project completion.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all installations adhere to ISO/IEC 11801, BS EN 50173, and relevant health and safety regulations.
Experience & Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Data Cabling Engineer within the structured cabling or telecoms industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling, patch panel termination, and cable testing using Fluke or equivalent tools.
- Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering structured cabling installations across commercial, office, or enterprise environments.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently on site, and clear communication with clients and site teams.
- Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK at the time of application.
Desirable:
- Certifications: CSCS card; manufacturer accreditation (e.g. Leviton, Commscope, Panduit); ECS card.
- Sector Background: Prior experience working on data centre, education, or healthcare cabling projects.
