About the Role

Are you an experienced AV Installation Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

Technical Resources is partnering with a leading provider of commercial AV and integrated technology solutions to hire an AV Installation Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and commissioning of audiovisual systems across a range of commercial and corporate environments, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • AV System Installation: Install, terminate, and configure AV equipment including displays, projectors, video walls, audio systems, control systems, and conferencing solutions across commercial sites.
  • Cable Management & Containment: Run and dress structured cabling, including HDMI, SDI, Cat6, and audio cabling, in line with project drawings and specifications.
  • Client & Site Coordination: Liaise with site managers, end clients, and project teams to ensure installations are completed on time and to specification.
  • Technical Oversight & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of works completed, produce snagging lists, and contribute to commissioning documentation and handover packs.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works adhere to relevant industry standards and health and safety regulations, including CDM requirements where applicable.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Essential:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as an AV Installation Engineer within the commercial AV industry.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with AV systems from recognised manufacturers such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Samsung, LG, or similar; familiarity with control system programming is advantageous.
  • Project/Operational Scope: Proven track record of delivering AV installations across corporate, education, or commercial environments, from small meeting rooms to large-scale multi-zone projects.
  • Soft Skills: Strong client-facing manner, excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities, and clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mobility & Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK; a full UK driving licence is required, with willingness to travel to sites across the South Coast region.

Desirable:

  • Certifications: AVIXA CTS accreditation; IPAF/PASMA for working at height; CSCS card.
  • Sector Background: Prior experience on corporate fit-out, higher education, or hospitality AV projects; exposure to unified communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms.
