Job Title: Principal Suppression Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £330 per day
Are you looking for a Principal Suppression Engineer position working in London? As a Principal Suppression Engineer, you will lead the design and construction activities for fire suppression, hydrant, and dry/wet riser systems across major infrastructure projects. You will be working for a leading organisation delivering projects across rail, highways, and power sectors, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Description of contract/programme of works:
● Lead the design and verification of Fire Suppression Systems in line with BS9990, BS EN 12845, and relevant standards
● Review, manage, and coordinate designs from MEP consultants and contractors, ensuring safety, compliance, and constructability
● Develop and author Fire Alarm Cause & Effects documentation, coordinating all third-party interfaces
● Support Engineering Managers in resolving interface and integration issues across systems
● Provide technical input, promote standardisation, and support value engineering initiatives
Experience required:
● Extensive experience in Fire Systems design across large-scale infrastructure projects
● Strong knowledge of Fire Suppression systems, hydrants, and riser services
● Experience working with CAD/BIM software for Fire Systems design
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
● Strong understanding of BS9990, BS EN 12845, and relevant Fire standards
● Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
