Technical Resources is partnering with a specialist contractor to recruit a Lead Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced QS who enjoys leadership, commercial control, and working closely with internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial function for passive fire projects.
- Manage cost control, forecasting, and margin performance.
- Oversee subcontractor sourcing, negotiation, valuations, and invoicing.
- Mentor and support a small team of QSs and commercial staff.
- Monitor commercial KPIs, cash flow, debtors, and risks.
- Support project teams with commercial insight and reporting.
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Economics.
- At least 5 years’ QS experience.
- Previous experience managing commercial teams.
- Background in fire compliance, social housing, or construction would be beneficial.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.
- Confident with Excel, Word, and commercial reporting tools.
- CSCS or equivalent preferred.
- Office-based role.
- Team size: around 3 Junior QSs/QSs and 1 Commercial Administrator.
