Job Title: Gates & Barriers Engineer
Location: Southampton
Rate: £240 per day
Are you a Gates & Barriers Engineer based in Southampton looking for your next contract opportunity? As a Gates & Barriers Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out service, maintenance, and repair works on gates and barrier systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security and access control solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works on gates and barrier systems.
* Diagnose and resolve faults on a range of gate and barrier equipment to minimise site downtime.
* Conduct site surveys and risk assessments prior to commencing works.
* Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant health and safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
* Maintain accurate service records and complete job reports in a timely manner.
* Liaise professionally with clients on site, providing updates on works carried out.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Proven experience in the service and maintenance of automated gates and barrier systems.
* Familiarity with a range of manufacturers and system types, including boom barriers, sliding and swing gates, and rising bollards.
* Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical components.
* Full UK driving licence.
* CSCS Card (desirable).
