Job Title: Fire & Security Service Engineer Manager
Location: East London / Essex
Salary: £55,000 + Company Van
Are you an experienced Fire & Security Service Engineer Manager based in East London or Essex looking for your next opportunity? As a Fire & Security Service Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of field-based engineers across fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems, providing both technical leadership and hands-on support across a range of commercial and residential sites. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support, coaching and mentoring to field-based engineers on-site and remotely, driving consistent standards across the team.
* Carry out hands-on service, maintenance and fault-finding work on fire and security systems when required.
* Conduct technical audits and quality assessments, evaluating engineer competency and identifying development needs.
* Manage escalated technical issues from engineers, customers and internal teams, including participation in the backup call-out rota.
* Organise and lead regular engineer meetings and technical briefings to promote best practice and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with wider management and service teams to enhance operational delivery and engineer performance.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Proven experience as a senior engineer, engineering supervisor or service manager within the fire and security industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, with experience of intruder alarms, CCTV or access control advantageous.
* Demonstrable experience mentoring, supervising or managing field-based engineers, including conducting audits and competency assessments.
* Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills across fire and security systems, with the ability to manage complex technical escalations.
* Full UK driving licence, as the role involves regular site visits across East London and Essex.
* FIA qualification or equivalent fire alarm certification (desirable).
* ECS/CSCS card or relevant industry health and safety certification (desirable).
