Broadband builder and provider hires 60+ skilled professionals for full fibre projects throughout Scotland and Northern England

With the help of Technical Resources, the company can now secure talent on-demand, across the UK.

As the UK continues its roll-out of ultrafast broadband all over the nation, competition for talent is increasing.

In the summer of 2021, a Berwickshire-based independent broadband builder and provider was struggling to source FTTP planners. To support their recruitment efforts, the company reached out to Technical Resources.

Finding skilled professionals at a nationwide scale

The partnership started with five vacancies in their design team and quickly developed into an ongoing relationship.

Then, in the following autumn, the company gave Technical Resources advanced notice of further investment to deploy ultrafast broadband throughout Scotland and Northern England. At this point, around 100 vacancies were proposed and allocated to our specialist recruitment team.

Close collaboration delivers the desired outcomes

A large majority of these vacancies were given to our team on an exclusive basis. Utilising our extensive candidate network throughout the UK, our recruitment experts were able to source over 30 vacancies quickly, ensuring that all projects commence as planned.

During this period, Technical Resources worked closely with the company and provided full visibility on the recruitment activities. Every week, two catch-up meetings were held to discuss current candidates in play, updates on ongoing vacancies, as well as the progress of new starters.

Impressed with the results, the CEO had this to say:

"The Technical Resources team is a pleasure to work with and we would not be as ready as we are to deploy ultrafast broadband without their support. The close partnership we have established has paved the way for scaling our business and employees; and we look forward to continuing to work together as we build our full fibre network."
