Job Title: Telecoms Engineer
Location: Midlands
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Are you an experienced Telecoms Engineer based in the Midlands looking for a hands-on role with a variety of national telecoms projects? As a Telecoms Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining telecoms equipment across customer sites, data centres, and exchanges, supporting national networks and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
● Install and commission telecoms equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and related devices
● Diagnose, maintain, and repair systems to restore service quickly
● Migrate and upgrade customer technologies to new platforms
● Manage your own workload on-site efficiently and professionally
● Perform cabling, fibre, power, configuration, and testing tasks (e.g., Cisco routers/switches)
● Record work accurately in company systems and track inventory and equipment movements
Experience and Certifications required:
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Telecoms or IT engineering
● Confident in installing, configuring, and supporting routers, switches, and related equipment
● Strong analytical and problem-solving approach with hands-on experience
● Comfortable using remote access tools and diagnostic software (e.g., TeamViewer)
● Excellent communication and customer service skills
● Knowledge of structured cabling, fibre, and power installations
