The Telecommunications System Engineer role works within the Telecommunications Support Team to support all internal Telecom related products and platforms, as well as assisting with the application and its dependencies. This is an important role and has good opportunity to work with an expansive company that values every employee.
 
Key responsibilities for the Telecommunications System Engineer:
  • Remotely install, configure and test system operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Provide ‘Pre Sales’ support to staff who require technical assistance for system deployments
  • Manage and monitor all installed phone systems and maintained infrastructure
  • Test and maintained any serviceable device across the installed base
  • Provide remote support and manage service requests for maintained customers
  • Work within the project team to deliver the requirements set out by the service manager and channel director
  • Provide emergency P1 response, this may entail a site visit to ’gold’ or ‘bespoke’ customers nationwide
  • Maintain security/backup strategies
  • Liaising with vendors and customers for high level system escalations
  • Continuing your knowledge of the Unify OpenScape Portfolio
  • Updating the CRM system and handling customer reviews
Experience and Qualifications required for the Telecommunications System Engineer role:
  • Experience in hosted telephony
  • DECT & WiFi experience
  • Unify OpenScape business basic and advance course accreditation
  • Switching and Networking experience (basic)
  • Understanding of line types including SIP
  • Desirable to have knowledge of contact centre
  • CW1308, Cat 5e and Cat 6 experience for installs and fault finding
  • Great knowledge of BroadSoft
