Location Required: Home, based from Midlands, Beds, Bucks, Herts, London preferred

Role Summary:
My client is an NSI Fire Gold accredited systems house with over 36 years' experience in providing life safety product & service solutions to a host of leading private and public sector organisations around the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand our technical team with the addition of a highly motivated and career minded individual working as a Special Projects Engineer. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, this diverse role will be based from home and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to travel to various key account sites to supervise and support our field engineers, helping to ensure special project works are delivered on time, on budget, to specification, all meeting customer expectations.
Additional to the above, the successful candidate may also be called upon to provide escalation support. For this they will need have a solid technical background in Life Safety Systems, and be fully competent in the diagnosis and repair of faults, and / or completing small installation additions, modifications & commissioning on a wide variety of life safety equipment types, predominantly fire alarms or associated systems.

Key Responsibilities:
? To supervise and support the timely & effective delivery of Special Projects Works, in accordance with company procedures
? To deliver timely & effective escalated response solutions, by way of the diagnosis and repair of faults, or by completing system additions / modifications
? To fit in with the engineering, technical & operations teams who are fully committed and driven toward achieving best results
? To always present and conduct oneself appropriately given the nature of their position and importance of our clients

Technical Requirements:
? Previous experience in project management, including the supervision & support of installation and commissioning engineers, company representation in customer facing meetings, inputs to project planning for one or more fire system companies
? Previous experience in a senior engineering capacity completing call outs, installation & commissioning role for one or more fire system companies
? City & Guilds 231 Electrical Parts 1 & 2 / IEEE 17th Edition / ONC in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
? FIA or IFEDA qualified in fire systems design, installation, commissioning & maintenance or equivalent
? ICEL qualified in emergency lighting maintenance & commissioning
? Extensive knowledge and understanding of a variety of life safety system types such as Fire Alarms, Emergency lighting, PAVA, Disabled Refuge & Call Alarms, AOV & Dampers, Leak Detection, Gas Extinguishing Systems, Fire Extinguishers
? A good working knowledge and understanding of the applicable codes of practice governing the above equipment types, eg BS5839-1(2017)
? Extensive working knowledge of most of the following OEM's products, Gent by Honeywell, Advanced, MultiIfax, Protec, Apolllo, Hochiki, Baldwin Boxhall, Tyco, Menvier, TOA, Kentec, Notifier, Morley IAS
? Extensive experience of investigating & repairing cable faults, such as open circuit, short circuit, short to circuit and / or building earth
