My client, a diverse technology communications company based in Bracknell, is currently looking for a permanent Senior Support Engineer to join the organisation's Support Team on a full-time basis.

Role Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership to members within the Support Team
2. Support the Department Head in establishing and implementing departmental policies, objectives and procedures in line with ITIL standards
3. Provide frontline support to a range of clients from across the globe, in sectors which include central government, travel and utilities, and deliver consistently high customer service levels
4. Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of applications and networking issues
5. Take responsibility for keeping the company's mission-critical communications platform live, ensuring that customers continue to experience the high service levels they expect
6. Install hardware and software, both domestically and abroad
7. Apply creative thinking and assess patterns in platform behaviour across various channels of communication to continually improve services
8. Communicate effectively with clients and team members to manage escalations
9. Deliver detailed and authoritative progress reports on queries and projects to both clients and to management, in regular meetings

The ideal applicant should possess the following skills / experience:
1. Strong educational background with a minimum of A-Levels and a relevant degree
2. Experience in technical support, client communication and relationship management
3. Knowledge of web application concepts (e.g. JavaScript, server frameworks, request routing etc.)
4. Excellent planning and organisation skills
5. Knowledge of SQL (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
6. Good oral and written skills, with excellent attention to detail
7. An ability to produce written work, such as updating notifications, for internal and external distribution, to strict deadlines
8. Willingness to support a team that operates on a rota basis by working beyond the standard 9-5
9. Willingness to travel to meetings in the UK, and occasionally abroad

Additional desirable skills:
1. Previous experience of team leadership
2. ITIL Qualification
3. Experience of writing code in a development environment or operating system, ideally in C, C++, C#, PHP, JavaScript etc.
4. Experience of IP networking or telecoms or a good knowledge of those subject areas
