As a Planning Manager you will be expected to provide instruction and leadership to the planning teams to increase productivity, quality and ensure targets are met. You will be based out of the Cambridge office and will remain actively involved in the survey and design through a hands-on approach where required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of BT's PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) Network as a large amount of PIA planning work is due top start in the coming months.
Fibre Planning Manager
Salary: Up to £41,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Benefits including 33 days holiday
Reporting to the Planning Manager, your duties will include:
*Creating and/or developing regular reporting methods for the Planning Team Leads.
*Daily reporting to the Planning Manager on progress in design quality and quantity for all clients across all offices.
*Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of all technical and client driven network design and delivery expectations for the work being carried out by all resource.
*Close liaison with the Quality Controller to ensure all clients expectations are achievable and properly instructed to the Planning Team Leads and then onto the Surveyors/Planners and that quality expectations are achieved.
*Close liaison with the H&S Manager to ensure all clients expectations are achievable and properly instructed to the Planning Team Leads and then onto the Surveyors/Planners and that H&S expectations are achieved.
*Close liaison with the GIS Developer to understand where design efficiencies can be achieved an rolled out across the respective planning teams. All developments to be discussed and agreed with the Planning Manager.
*Close liaison with the SIMS application controller to ensure that all design projects are included in it and to seek ways to improve the communication process within SIMS.
*Close liaison with the Design Delivery Manager to understand and agree deliverable targets for each client based on the resource available for each client in each region.
*Be the primary point of contact for the client's management team regarding all matters concerning design quality and quantity of submissions.
*To support the Planning Team Leads in their interaction with the client delivery teams for their region including attending the regional offices as and when needed.
*Attend regular conference calls for updates on progress. This may also include conference calls with the client.
*Investigate methods to streamline or improve the survey & design process or deliverable to maintain and improve client expectations, production run rates or deliverable quality and discuss any suggestions with the Planning Manager for approval.
*Work closely with the Project Co-ordinator on a weekly basis to align delivery expectations and work schedules for the survey and planning resource and produce a forecast of design production based on the resource availability.
