We are seeking an experience Fibre Specialist to become training manager at the academy for a growing Telecommunications division of a large Civil Engineering company. You will need to have an extensive background of Fibre Optic FTTC / FTTP / FTTH work on the BT Network and have an enthusiasm and drive to mentor and train Fibre Engineers / Civils Operatives to improve the Quality and Safety of their work.

Fibre Engineer Training Manager
Salary: Up to £38,000 + Company Van + Fuel Card + Phone + Standard Company Benefits (20 days holiday, pension, etc)
Location: Cambridge

*Deliver high quality training and qualifications across a variety of technical fields including, but not limited to, Cabling, Splicing, Civils and HSE
*Plan and organise training to ensure Operative qualifications remain current for the work they are completing
*Work with the Head of People Development in the design of training programmes to ensure they are engaging, high quality and meet the requirements of the company and relevant accrediting bodies
*Develop and organise handouts, instructional materials, visual aids and other educational materials to ensure the learner understands the key points to take away from the training
*Conduct in-Field capability assessments of engineers and sub-contractors to identify training needs and post-training to establish capability, providing constructive feedback to those who need to improve/re-attend
*Maintain adequate training records including required accreditation documentation
*Make recommendations for improvements to training content and material
*Provide in-Field mentoring to raise the capability of inexperienced or under-performing employees
*Work with other departments including health and safety to support them in innovative ways to ensure statutory training is completed

Desirable Qualifications
*Recognised qualification in training design and delivery
*Recognised Assessor qualification (or working towards)
*Current cabling accreditations, preferably to BT standard for PIA works
