We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer / Smarthands for an initial 4 week contract with good opportunity to extend or go permanent. This will be shift based work Mon-Fri with the opportunity to work weekends. Shifts are based over 24 hours with 4 out of 5 shifts being between 7am and 7pm. Weekend work is paid at an uplift of 1.25x

You must be willing to undergo criminal and credit referencing checks to be able to access site.

Data Centre Engineer / Smarthands
Rate: Up to £17/hour
Location: Camberley

Responsibilities:
*Install or replace customer replaceable hardware components within IT equipment
*Site representation on incident bridges
*Dispatch to deal with high severity incidents in other locations
*Physical support for all technologies (E.g. Restart , ID of fault lights etc)
*Carry out all types of Copper Voice and Data terminations
*Audit and document existing cabling, desktop configuration, including patching and power, for existing and proposed user locations
*Compile patching schedules as required
*Reconnection and power up of all desktop and/or DC equipment including any peripherals
*Configure D Type Connectors for a variety of applications.
*Carry out testing and fault finding on Copper and Fibre Cabling Infrastructure (including ISDN Line Tests) using a variety of modern testers to include continuity testers, tone generators and modern cabling standards testers.
*Rack and Stack Hardware in Comms Rooms and Data Centre Halls and provide connectivity to the Hardware
*Keep records of all new assets installed and update records for all changes using Asset Management Software when required.
*Carry out all works under current Health & Safety procedures
*Ensure all works comply with Excel Redstone, Client and Manufacturers quality standards.
