About the role:
*As the Cloud Platform Manager working in the UK Infrastructure division, you will lead the Cloud Team responsible for the build, run & operate of IT Private Cloud.
*IT Private Cloud, running Redhat Openstack, is the platform upon which is the most critical business applications reside and must deliver 99.999% availability. The Cloud Platform Manager is accountable for ensuring that the platform meets the availability and performance targets set out to deliver business critical services.
*The Cloud Platform Manager will be responsible for building a team of 3rd Line Cloud Platform Engineers responsible for the build, configuration, and run and operate of the Private Cloud Infrastructure.
*The Cloud Platform Manager is accountable for putting the customer at the forefront of everything that they do, ensuring that every decision made is in the best interest of the customer experience.
*The Cloud Platform Manager works alongside managers in the Application, Network, Security and Service Management functions. As a result the role holder will need to have deep and extensive understanding, knowledge and experience managing cloud environments across the core technologies.
*The Cloud Platform Manager must be focused with a structured and disciplined approach with confidence to deal with challenging situations including effective internal (Board level, Senior Leadership Team) and external communications (Senior Management).
*Act as the leadership face of the Cloud Infrastructure acting as the primary interface between the Architecture, Design, Operations teams.
*Management (Hiring, coaching, mentoring and day to day management) of the 3rd Line Platform Engineers responsible for the business critical Redhat Openstack Cloud platform upon which is business critical applications reside, accountable for achieving 99.999% availability.
*Deliver effective service management (Incident, Change & Problem) and reporting in line with existing functions
*Accountable for the performance of the cloud environment throughout its lifecycle, ensuring any the latest software, security patches and system upgrades are applied within defined SLA's.
*Constantly improve speed to market by ensuring continuous deployment through automation targeting 100% of day to day tasks being automated.
*Strong leadership, interpersonal, planning, and organization skills.
*Minimum 5 year's management and people leadership experience in IT/Cloud Operations.
*Strong technology experience in operating and implementing scalable cloud-based technologies.
*Experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment & Automation.
*Experience of working in an agile environment
*Proven excellent communicator who can guide technical teams alongside collaborating with multiple business focussed stakeholders.
