Technical Resources are currently recruiting for the following position:

Job Role: CAD Technician
Location: London
Start Date: 10.08.20
End Date: 30.10.20
Working Hours: 8:30am - 5pm (working in the office)
RATE: £160 p/day

Main Duties include:
CAD Technician in London.
Working alongside the CAD Manager in the production of technically sound fire system and security drawings, using 2D Autodesk AutoCAD systems liaising with our Sales, Project and Commissioning Teams to achieve high-standards in project delivery. AutoCAD Revit experience is welcome though not a critical aspect of our current project provision.
Design schemes are carried out by nominated designers and therefore knowledge of fire and security engineering principles is not commercially essential though wouldn't be unwelcoming for this positon. CAD experience is key, with an ability to work within the team and with colleagues in a well organised and flexible manner.
The prioritising of workloads and meeting reasonable programming requests is fundamental in your ability to support and control drawings production and associated documentation. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated able to carry out all duties with limited supervision pro-active in obtaining design information within required timescales for project development and completion.
A commitment to improving job performance, ensuring that all activities within their current remit are in accordance with internal QA and management systems, while developing key processes through enquiry, operations and handover to increase productivity in conjunction with project teams.
The client design and install fire alarm and security systems, as well as provide additional maintenance services. The candidate must be comfortable commuting on a daily basis travel expenses will be considered.

All items listed will be undertaken through training and working with the Sales, Project and Design teams.

Overview of work stream and roles undertaken:
*Production of Fire and Security Drawings (Layouts Schematics Cause & Effect (via commissioning manager matrix) Zone Charts Wiring dB Addresses).
*Adhere to drawing office procedure documentation and CAD Libraries.
*Prioritise of workload.
*Ability to work within a team and with colleagues.
*Carry out all duties with limited supervision.

*Distribute and coordinate design between the client and external contractors and sub-contractors.
*Maintenance and update of drawing registers.
*Electronic filing of project data via internal systems and web based information channels (Conject, Dome Connect) supporting project team.
*Take receipt CAD markups.
*Support Operation & Maintenance manual production in conjunction with project team.
*Printing and distributing of drawings to Project Managers and Engineers.
*Follow the use of the internal systems for printing of drawings.
*Use of CAD drawing systems and PDF to print and convert project drawings.
*Print of MS Project programmes, Cause & Effects Schedules and distribute to appropriate personnel.
*Ensure all plotting equipment is in working order and consumables replaced at regular intervals.
*Use of large format scanner to log, file and maintain records of existing and markup information.
*Maintain and ensure these activities are controlled in accordance to internal QA and management systems.
*Liaise with your line manager, Sales, Design and Project team leaders to ensure that the work load is manageable at all times and that reasonable programming requests are met.
*Read, understand and implement the Company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
*Maintain the highest level of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment.
*Show initiative with regard to improving systems managed under the role.
*Be committed to improving job performance.
*Motivate others to produce consistently high level of work.

* Minimum of 5 years experience on 2D CAD drawings.
* Will need to get public transport in for this role, as above.
