Job Title: Technical Sales Manager Fire Systems
Location: Surrey
Rate: up to £70,000
The Technical Sales Manager – Fire Systems is responsible for leading the technical sales process, with a focus on estimating, system design, and proposal development for fire detection and alarm systems. This is a client-facing role requiring the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring solutions are compliant with industry standards and tailored to client needs. The successful candidate will be FIA and BS 5839 certified and possess deep expertise in fire systems (not fire & security).
Responsibilities :
- Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Proactively meet with clients to understand requirements and build long-term relationships
- Act as the technical point of contact for fire system solutions throughout the sales cycle
- Estimating & Proposal Development
- Prepare accurate estimates, detailed system designs, and compelling proposals for fire detection and alarm projects
- Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate costing and compliance
- Present technical solutions and proposals to clients, addressing queries and providing expert advice
- Design & Compliance
- Design fire detection and alarm systems in compliance with BS 5839 and industry best practice
- Ensure all proposals and solutions adhere to relevant legislation and standards (FIA, BS 5839)
- Collaboration & Project Handover
- Work closely with project delivery, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure seamless transition from sale to delivery
- Support the preparation of contract documentation and handover packs for successful projects
- Sales Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the fire systems sector
- Maintain and grow the company’s reputation for technical excellence and customer service
Additional Information:
- The vacancy arises due to the current post holder’s planned retirement. The outgoing Technical Sales Manager will be actively involved in the recruitment process and available for interviews alongside Mark (current post holder) next week (date TBC).
