: Sprinkler Design Engineer

£45,000 to £60,000 per annum
Technical Resources are working with a leading fire protection and life safety specialist seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join their growing design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant sprinkler system designs for commercial projects, ensuring all designs meet LPCB, BS EN 12845, and BS 9251 standards.
Responsibilities :

Produce detailed sprinkler system designs, including hydraulic calculations, material take-offs, and layout drawings.

Deliver designs across tender, construction, and as-built phases, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.

Liaise with project managers, clients, and approval bodies to obtain design sign-off.

Prepare and issue design documentation in accordance with LPCB LPS 1048, BS EN 12845, and BS 9251 (where applicable).

Provide technical support to installation and commissioning teams throughout project delivery.

Contribute to value engineering, ensuring cost-effective yet compliant system design solutions.
Experience and Certifications Required:

LPCB Competent Person (Design) certification – Essential.

Proven experience designing commercial sprinkler systems using Canute or Hyena software.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience beneficial).

Excellent understanding of pipe sizing, hydraulic calculations, and pump set design.

Minimum 3–5 years’ sprinkler design experience.

Knowledge of water supply arrangements, tank sizing, and LPCB compliance requirements.
