Location: UK

Salary: £30,000 - £54,000 per annum

Technical Resources are recruiting for a Special Risk Site Manager to join a team delivering complex fire protection systems across high-risk and industrial environments. You’ll manage the day-to-day installation, testing, and commissioning of fire detection, gas suppression, and mechanical fire systems on sites across the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage site installation teams and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely and to spec
  • Oversee daily progress, method statement compliance, and health and safety on site
  • Deliver toolbox talks and complete site safety documentation
  • Liaise regularly with client reps, attend meetings, and support snagging and inspections
  • Manage site documentation, including checklists and progress updates
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of fire detection and suppression systems
  • Travel and stay away from home across UK project sites as needed

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing fire alarm, detection, or electrical systems projects
  • Strong knowledge of BS5839:2017 and installation best practices
  • Competent with IT systems (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • SMSTS qualification (essential)
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of BS6266, BS7273, BS8519, and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Understanding of ATEX regulations and water/gas-based suppression systems
  • Familiarity with cable testing (IR, continuity)
  • Experience with industrial or high-risk sites
  • Strong planning and organisational ability
  • Excellent safety awareness and documentation accuracy
  • Comfortable leading teams and communicating with clients
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home when required
