Role: Service and Small Works Manager
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + Car
Technical Resources are recruiting for a Service and Small Works Manager to join a growing fire and security business based in West Sussex. In this role, you’ll support the Operations Manager in leading the delivery of service contracts and small works projects — ensuring smooth coordination, excellent customer service, and strong commercial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate a team of 4 Engineers, Sub-Contractors and support resources to deliver routine maintenance and small works
- Manage client relationships and act as the main point of contact for service and compliance queries
- Allocate planned and reactive works efficiently across the team
- Prepare RAMS and raise permit requests where required
- Survey and quote for remedial works based on Engineer reports
- Raise invoices for callouts, PPMs, and projects in liaison with the Office Manager
- Issue maintenance and monitoring contract renewals
- Maintain documentation for service records, BAFE audits, and compliance logs
- Oversee Engineer training needs and carry out regular site audits
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Previous experience as a Service Manager or Service Supervisor in the fire alarm industry
- Strong technical understanding of fire alarm systems and BS5839-1
- Excellent organisation, time management, and documentation skills
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship management ability
