Role : Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer
Location: East Anglia
Salary: £40,000 to £43,000 per annum

Are you a Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer based in the East of England looking for your next challenge? As a Senior Fire Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for commissioning complex fire detection and alarm systems while supporting engineering teams across the business. You’ll be working for a well-established fire and security organisation delivering high-quality life safety solutions across East Anglia and surrounding areas.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced fire commissioning professional who understands regulations, advanced cause and effect logic, and takes pride in delivering systems to the highest standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Commission conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems to a high standard
  • Commission fire systems in line with BS5839-1 and Part 6
  • Diagnose and rectify complex commissioning-stage faults and issues
  • Work with advanced cause and effect logic
  • Complete commissioning certificates, test results and handover documentation
  • Support system demonstrations, client training and final handover
  • Provide ongoing training and technical support to engineering teams
  • Assist with modifications, remedial and service work when required
  • Carry out small works installation across life safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security and information protection policies
  • Understand client requirements and deliver work to specification

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ senior commissioning experience on fire systems
  • Strong background in fire and security engineering
  • Proven experience commissioning conventional and addressable systems across multiple manufacturers
  • Full understanding of BS5839-1
  • Excellent fault-finding, first-time resolution and risk management skills
  • Experience working on large-scale fire systems
  • GENT and advanced fire alarm systems knowledge
  • FIA commissioning accreditations
  • Microsoft Office literate
  • Full UK driving licence
