Security Project Engineer
Location: Leeds
Duration: 3 months (with possible extension)
Rate: £320 per day (outside IR35, if applicable)
About the Role
An experienced Security Project Engineer is required to support ongoing security system installation and commissioning work. The role involves leading small to medium-sized security projects from planning through to handover, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day project activities and coordinate subcontractors (“subbies”).
- Prepare and review project documentation, including RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems.
- Ensure works are completed in compliance with health & safety standards and project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist with troubleshooting, site coordination, and handover documentation.
Technical Experience
- Strong working knowledge of CCTV, intruder alarm, and access control systems (ACS).
- Experience with major security system brands and integration.
- Able to interpret design drawings and system schematics.
- Competent in fault finding, commissioning, and system set-up.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in the electronic security industry.
- ECS/CSCS card preferred.
- Valid driving licence and ability to work on multiple sites if required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
