Role: Security Design Engineer
Location: South West
Salary: £40,000 - £49,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for an experienced Security Design Engineer to join a team, overseeing one site in the South West. In this role, you will be responsible for the full design lifecycle of security systems – from initial concept and site surveys through to specification, estimating, quoting, and handover to the delivery team. You will regularly travel to client sites to ensure that the solutions meet requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
- Conduct site surveys and provide expert recommendations based on security needs.
- Produce detailed technical specifications, system drawings, and project documentation.
- Prepare estimates and quotations tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security objectives and deliver bespoke solutions.
- Manage projects from design inception through to handover to the delivery team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Work closely with installation and commissioning teams to ensure seamless execution of your designs.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience in designing security systems (CCTV, access control, etc.)
- Experience with Fire systems is a bonus.
- Experience within the utilities sector is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of security standards and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, estimating, and project management skills.
