Role: Regulatory Specialist
Location: Guernsey
Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 per annum + Benefits
Technical Resources is hiring for a senior Regulatory Specialist to join a well-established organisation based in Guernsey. This is a pivotal role offering strategic influence across telecoms regulation, compliance, commercial risk, and stakeholder engagement. Ideal for an experienced Regulatory Advisor with telecoms, legal, or economic background looking for both challenge and autonomy in a senior post.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regulatory strategies aligned with business goals
- Advise on commercial implications of regulatory risks and opportunities
- Ensure regulatory compliance across licences, laws, and jurisdictions
- Engage with Ofcom-equivalent authorities and governments on spectrum, pricing, and licensing
- Advise internal teams (commercial, technical, legal) and attend senior leadership meetings
- Manage or instruct external legal/regulatory advisors where required
- Provide regulatory training to staff
- Oversee compliance in interconnection and wholesale requests
- This is a permanent, full-time role based in Guernsey
- Relocation support may be considered for the right candidate
Experience and Certifications Required:
- 5+ years’ experience in a regulated environment – ideally telecoms or a telecoms regulator
- Proven ability to balance commercial aims with regulatory frameworks
- Strong understanding of licensing, consultation responses, and stakeholder negotiation
- Ability to work independently on complex regulatory tasks
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to relocate or commute to Guernsey as required
- Experience in regulatory finance modelling (desirable)
- Background in regulatory law or economics (desirable)
- Familiarity with Guernsey/Jersey or UK communications regulatory environment (desirable)
